Welcome to the VOlog

Well, hello. Welcome to the VO log. Slightly different than a vlog. It's a VO log. Instead of a video log, I will be chatting with you in my booth.

What This Show Is

Maybe sometimes I'll take you outside of the booth, take you somewhere for a walk, just to kind of have a little chit chat. This is a place where I, Jenna Pinchbeck, will actually be speaking into a microphone and it will be transcribed into text. This is not AI. It comes straight from the horse's mouth. And I'm the horse. The horse is me. And we're going to do this thing as, you know, as frequently as I have some thoughts that I feel like maybe should exist in the world and exist on this website. And I appreciate you listening. and if you want to check back in for more episodes, the plan is to release them, you know, weekly, maybe more, maybe less. We'll see how it goes. And I just kind of want to chat about voiceover and what I'm going through and how the two relate and they certainly do relate.

The New Website

Yeah, it's just a little place that I can share a bit of myself on this website, which by the way, it looks really great, right? I know. I'll probably talk about the website a little bit more later, but I'm really excited about it. My partner Matthew and I worked on this together, and he did all of the photos. He did all of the coding and design, and I'm really proud of him and thankful because I feel like it's a vibe, and I'm excited to have it representing me. And thank you for being here again and for continuing to listen. Yeah, it's 2026, and just time for some refreshing and been thinking a lot about the work I want to do and how I want to represent myself both behind the microphone and digitally and this feels aligned and I'm excited to have a place to share kind of the the deeper thoughts and emotions around my work.

Cool Projects Ahead

I'm working on some cool projects that I'm excited to talk more about, and I'm excited about the projects page that you can take a look at and see kind of a more in-depth window into what it was like to work on those projects, what they ended up being, where those spots ended up living. I do a lot of projects that are more than just a one-off spot and I'm excited to have a place to kind of talk about them.

Voicing a Robot

For example, when I got to do the promo for the Electric State for Netflix, that was a really cool project. I got to be, I got to voice a robot named Louise. And they used, it was so cool, they used this robot and another robot, Bert. And they're huge. They're like, I don't know, seven, maybe seven feet tall. I don't know the actual height, but they were huge. And I had some friends that went to Comic-Con that actually got to see them in person. I wasn't able to see the robots in person, but my friends did. And they were huge. And I got to do a bunch of sessions for that robot and those different appearances that the robots made at the different press opportunities that the Electric State had. It was really cool. And I have an article on my projects page that kind of talks about the kind of groundbreaking creativity behind the press tour that they did. And the robots literally went on tour around the world and they had engineers. They had like basically puppeteers running the robots live and like they emote. They have eyes kind of like Wally that move around and emote and the legs walk and the screen shows all of the silly things that Louise is saying. So I would get on the session and the scripts would be so fun and really, really funny, really sharp. And yeah, it would be, you know, doing scenes with Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt and just kind of Millie Bobby Brown's dog. And it was really, really, really fun. And I wanted to talk more about that project. So I'm really glad that now I have these project pages on my website for you to kind of take a look at and see more into what the work was like, because that one was really unique. And there's a lot of really unique voiceover jobs that a lot of people don't think about. And I'm really happy to share them. And also in a world where, you know, AI is such a thing, it was really cool to be hired to play a robot and to give her a life within the confines of the robot delivery.

Signing Off

She has such a personality. And there's a lot of nuance that goes into making those robotic lines delivered in a way that is dry and funny and sarcastic and sassy, but still sounds like a robot. So, yeah, that was cool. I really liked doing that. And I'm excited again to have a place to share it all. So thank you for listening to the kind of introduction to what this vlog will be. And I hope you come check it out again. Thanks so much. Signing off.
